Let's talk about Facebook.

First off, FUCK FACEBOOK!!!!!!!!!!

My account has been deactivated for using a fake name. As a lot of you know, my name has been "Matt Gameboy Owen" on Facebook since the day that I created my account in 2005... Ten years ago... But, that didn't seem to matter until recently... They asked me to upload a government issued ID and to change my name... Easy enough, right? I mean, besides the fact that this is a complete fucking forceful invasion of privacy... It's simple... So, I did it.

-DE-FUCKING-NIED-

WHY?!?!

The worst part? This has severed my connection to websites that I chose "Log In With Facebook" - Which means my tour schedule, my websites (Electrobrass and ET), my blogs, etc. are all disabled. The entire existence of Eclectic Tuba is at an absolute halt.

As you can imagine, this makes me the angriest man on the face of the planet.

Not to mention that I've lost access to every photograph and video that I've ever posted.

Our June bookings have stopped because we've lost communication with our venue and city contacts.

I'm off the internet for an indefinite amount of time. Until then, #whereismattowen

i think what Facebook did was stupid. I think a valuable lesson is to be learn't, that Facebook really isn't reliable site to sign into other things with. I use my email to sign into other things. It's not fair to you that they did this to you. I hope and pray that things will get better. You are an amazing musician and I wish you the best

This is just another fine example of how much Big Brother really is watching- and it's absolutely not okay. Maybe keep reaching out to them by letting them know it's a nickname that has basically become your main calling by friends and family alike. We should create a new form of social media that all our friends can switch to. It's about time Facebook died but man, all your photos and videos- I'd loose it.

Man!!! I AM losing it, yo!!! Hahaha. I'm trying to fill up an audition packet that requires several types of photos - all of which are locked inside of the Facebook vault. :(

Keep up the fight, and make it public! Facebook can only keep censoring/silencing/disappearing people so long as users either don't know, or don't think it can happen to them.

I mean seriously, if you have the means or the will, SUE THEM. They are not simply fucking with your life, they literally are choking your livelihood!
